Fix Our Democracy!

Issues of transparency, good governance practices, and access have plagued the General Assembly in recent years. In February 2021, fifty-two NC organizations called on the General Assembly leadership to adopt practices and policies that ensure open and transparent committee meetings, full public access to legislative documents, and sufficient public notice of legislative activities.

Join us to learn more about the history these concerns are based on and steps our legislators are taking to create better governance and access within the General Assembly.

Working Toward Racial Justice

This is our annual judicial event, a program during which we focus on informing and engaging our members and the public on issues of judicial relevance. We will assemble a distinguished panel of activists and experts to talk about initiatives currently underway in North Carolina to address the scourge of racial injustice.

Our goal has always been to inform and embolden Politicas to be strong advocates and good communicators within their own circles. Working with collaborating organizations, we’ll conduct short, hands-on-learning sessions on everything you need to know to advocate for your issues with elected officials, friends, and family.

Municipal Candidate Forum

PoliticaNC will partner with other local organizations to bring candidates for City of Raleigh and Wake County offices to you. Candidates will answer questions and talk about plans for our local community.

Braver Angels Workshop / Family & Politics

If you want to preserve important family bonds while still being true to your values and political beliefs, this workshop is for you! Although the focus is on family relationships, you can use strategies in this workshop with any loved one. You’ll laugh and have some fun in this workshop—it won’t be all serious. After all, we all come from quirky families.

Join us and explore how you can increase your impact through imagery in social media.

Expert Vicky DeGroote will help you learn the basics of free apps that you can use to increase the impact of your posts with better graphics and images. This will be hands-on training on how to create great images for you social media and event messaging.

NC Political Roadmap with Dr. David McLennan and Gary Pearce
